Pricing

Free!

At the moment, Composer is entirely free.

Composer is a very new product, in the early stages of development. As such, we’re currently accepting a limited number of users who will get free accounts for life. If you sign up now, the functionality you get now will always be free.

Free forever?

As Composer continues to gain in popularity, it’s likely that we will have to start charging for it at some point to cover development/hosting costs.

Although we have no firm plans on how this would work, our general ideas are:

  • Accounts created while the service is free will always get the functionality they have now for free
  • Paid accounts may include additional, new functionality which is only available for those users (for example reporting/analytics, multi-user accounts for businesses etc)
  • Free accounts may have limits on posting volume – ie heavy users may need to have paid accounts
  • Pricing is likely to be low – perhaps £9/$9 a year

I’d use and even pay some for your service here only if there is posting from RSS Feed feature and more then 4-5 networks available. Thx!

I have just discovered your service as I was looking for alternatives to the old ping.fm. I am seriously impressed as it obviously is a work in progress, but don’t change it all too much! It works and that’s good enough for me.

Please charge if it becomes impossible to continue without some income to cover expenses. Alternatives for you to this are to allow advertising on the site. The link backs alone must be worth a dollar or two a month per small ad?

Think about asking for links to this website as well, to spread the word? I would happily put a link to you guys on my links page http://www.easyflatpax.com/easy-flatpax-link-partners-page1/. Let me have the code!

    Keep up the great work!

I think it’s fair to put ads on the free version and let people who want to be ad-free have premium upgrades pay for that.

If you can manage to keep it as clean and non-intrusive as possible that would be appreciated. Search related ads/post related ads. But no pop-ups if you can help it.

I don’t know if you’re on Medium, but you so deserve to be there It’s a place where amazing ideas are exchanged and a few everyday people like me. i’m not sure what po.st is doing but they’re offering to pay for sharing their brand or something like that. *vague waving of right hand. They’ve managed to keep their site clean and generate revenue. you could do something similar probably.

      good luck. good work!

Nice ideas – thanks. I agree completely – I don’t like pop-ups etc so wouldn’t want to put them on Composer.

We’re real people that love using great web apps, so we want to build awesome tools that people love using, not horrible ad-bloated pages.

Thanks for the tips RE Medium and po.st.

Great to find you are working on this..

I want to run a boot camp for newbies, and in my research found you.

Excellent to see you doing something to replace ping who I used extensively in the past.

    Thanks

Great project! Best of luck! I am going to use Composer just to encourage the developers & to support your project.
The best idea is “Accounts created while the service is free will always get the functionality they have now for free”. It is the norm adopted by many companies who are big giants in market now.

So I would advise to honor the people (who are helping you now in getting mature in your development) by keeping them FREE even after getting premium for the new comers!

    Cheers!

About pricing: I am a small business owner and the new hootsuite prices are too much for a 2 person business. I would be happy to pay under $10.00 a month to start and then as my business grows I would have the ability to spend more – and I would want to spend more. Some competition pricing feedback (market research for you!) I really hate not seeing the prices laid out. Too many social media sites are burying their prices. Even when you go to the page you are greeted with a “one month free trial” an NO PRICE! It irks me. I have to go back to google/bing and type in “product review prices” to even get a close idea of what the price might be. AND since I am doing everything in my business this lost time is expensive.
I am still learning how to run a business and every penny counts and I cannot budget for business expenses if I don’t know what they are. And I think it is sneaky to bury the costs. Just my humble opinion. I think you could easily start with a small dollar amount for basic posting and then have people pay more for the bells and whistles. I think if you can have a basic plan about $3.00-$5.00 a month, you’d explode (that’s 1 Starbucks coffee a month!). Hope the info helps and I’m signing up right now! XD
