Getting Started

A handy guide to get you started on Composer.

1. Register

To register a new account, please visit our registration page.

Enter a username, your email address and password, then check the ToS checkbox and click ‘Submit’.

You’ll be sent an email to confirm your email address, click the link in the email and then you’re ready to go.

2. Add Some Services

The next step is to add the services you’d like to post to.

Proceed to the services page and click the link for the service you’d like to add.

Adding most services will consist of clicking a link which will redirect you to that service and ask you to authorise Composer to make posts on your behalf. You will need to login to that service to complete the authorisation.

Adding WordPress is slightly different, so see our Adding WordPress page for specific instructions.

3. Try Posting

Once you’ve added a service, you can try making your first post.

Proceed to the Compose page and fill in the big box with all the wonderful things you’d like to say.

Put a check next to each service you’d like to post to and then click ‘Submit Post’.

Please wait for the page to load, your posts are being sent as it’s loading.

4. Add the Bookmarklet

To make posting from around the internet much easier, we’ve added a bookmarklet. Drag and drop the ‘Publish Via Composer’ bookmarklet link on the Compose page to your bookmarks bar, or right click to add it to your favourites (or bookmarks).

Wherever you are on the web, click the bookmark to get a pop-up box prefilled with the title and URL of the page you’re viewing. If you highlight some text before clicking the bookmarklet, that will also be included in your post.

5. Stay In Touch

Composer is a work in progress. We need your feedback to build the service. Sign up to our casual newsletter to keep up to date with progress, and get in touch if you have some good ideas.

Is there a way to post on Facebook Fan page. I am not able to find any resource for this feature. It gets connected to my personal profile but not the fan pages that I created. Thanks.

      Hey,

WBy fan pages, do you mean normal Facebook Pages? If so, yes, it is possible. Add your Facebook account and then go back to the add services page and you’ll see an option to add pages. You’ll be able to add any pages you’re an admin of.

Let me know if you get any issues.

Thanks. I was made admin of the fan pages by someone.

I think this is the reason why I am getting this message when I click on “add pages”
Message: “There are no Facebook pages accessible from this Facebook account.”

Will try connecting facebook who has admin access.

A heads up that the email link to confirm registration went into spam on my Gmail account.

It might be because the ‘from’ was just ‘noreply’ ?

    Hello,
I have a media/ news publishing page that is connected to my personal facebook account. Right now composer is connected to my personal but I would just like it connected to the business account. Is there any way to just show the posts from just the business and not the personal account?
    Thank you

      Hey,

Yeah sure. You need to add your Facebook account to post to any associated pages, but you can set up a posting group or accounts to post to by default so that you only post to those. The simple method is to untick the personal account before sending your post.
